🧠 Mind Reader
Somewhere between “hot” and “cold”, between “overrated” and “underrated”, lies a secret target. Only one person can see where it is – and gives a single clue. How well can the team read their mind? Mind Reader is explained in seconds, sparks instant debates (“Pineapple pizza is NOT 80% overrated!”) and shows how differently people think.
- 2–20 players
- approx. 2 minutes per round
- Free, no app
How Mind Reader works
- One person sees a scale with two opposites on their phone, e.g. “Needs explaining ↔ Self-explanatory”, plus the secret target position.
- They say a word on the call that fits exactly that spot – say, “PowerPoint”.
- Everyone else moves their slider to where they think the target is.
- The stage reveals it: the closer the guesses, the more points – for the clue-giver too.
Why Mind Reader works
- Everyone plays at the same time – nobody has to “perform” in front of the group.
- The clue almost always triggers a short, funny discussion.
- You learn how your colleagues think – perfect for new or mixed teams.
Great for
- Daily stand-up
- Team meeting
- Kick-off

Examples
- Underrated ↔ Overrated
- Useless ↔ Essential
- So Monday ↔ So Friday
- Embarrassing ↔ Cool
- Boring ↔ Exciting
Tips for hosts
- One round is enough as a warm-up – if the mood is good, just keep playing.
- Encourage the clue-giver to pick bold words. Those are the ones that get people talking.
FAQ
Who gives the clue?
The clue-giver rotates automatically every round. Play a few rounds and almost everyone gets a turn.
Where do I know this idea from?
Placing words on a scale between two opposites is a popular party-game mechanic. Mind Reader is our own online version with its own scales, made for teams.
